Get Fit Fast: The Benefits of High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT)

Does a busy schedule keep you from working out? You may think you need to spend hours in the gym to see results. But with High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), you can get a maximum effort in as little as 10-30 minutes

What is HIIT?

It’s short bursts of intense cardiorespiratory exercise followed by low-intensity active recovery periods.

The benefits of HIIT are numerous:

  • Burn 25-30% more calories than a regular workout in the same time
  • Burn calories for hours after your workout by increasing your metabolic rate
  • Promote fat loss
  • Reduce blood pressure and heart rate, especially in obese individuals
  • Improve blood sugar levels and insulin sensitivity

HIIT should only be done 2-3 times per week, with at least 48 hours between sessions. As with any exercise program, consult your doctor before starting. Don’t let time constraints stop you from getting fit. Try HIIT today!
