Each generation imagines itself to be more intelligent than the one that went before it, and wiser than the one that comes after it.”  ~ George Orwell

Believe it or not, we have 5 generations in today’s workforce including:

The Silent Generation; Baby Boomers; Generation X; Millennials (Generation Y); and Generation Z.  Many times when there is a difference in generation, the methods for completing tasks vary as well. This can lead to conflict in the workplace.

The first portion of the presentation explores each of the generations and where they came from in order to help understand their “methods”.  As the largest two groups are the Baby Boomers and Millennials, we will also compare and contrast topics including: hiring; training; learning styles; comprehension; communication; work schedules; and more.

The latter half of the presentation will look at our “Aging Workforce”. People are choosing to work longer for a variety of reasons. With this shift, employers need to be aware of accommodations or transitioning to help workers. We will discuss the aging process as it relates to the work environment: sight, balance, hearing, reaction time, strength and more.
